with the continuous development of the automotive industry, energy saving, environmental protection, safety, and lightweight will become the main development direction of future automobiles. compared with traditional materials, plant fiber composite materials have the characteristics of high rigidity, high strength, and light weight. leading the world's automotive industry towards gradual weight reduction and cost reduction is an inevitable trend for the development of future automobile manufacturers. in terms of product weight reduction effects, sound insulation effects, and collision experiments, plant fiber composites have great advantages, especially a series of advantages such as renewable, degradable, recyclable, low cost, and low harm to humans. compared with traditional materials, plant fiber composites have the advantage that after the collision, no debris and sharp edges are generated. in some experimental tests, it can be found that the plant fiber composite material can effectively avoid secondary injuries to people after a collision, and has better safety.

in recent years, plant fiber composite materials have become more and more widely used in automotive interiors. they are mainly used in the production of interior parts such as car roofs, trunk liners, heat insulation pads, sun visors, bumpers, and door trims. . swiss car manufacturers mainly use linen fiber for automotive parts such as roofs and hoods, which can effectively reduce weight by more than 40%. in germany, wood-plastic composite materials are mainly used to make instrument panels and door panels, which effectively improves the strength of interior trims and reduces weight by 17%. there are also a large number of vehicle models in china that use plant fiber composite materials. the interior decoration is mainly made of door panels, rear partition panels, ceilings and elevated boxes.
