A Contrastive Study of Wine Culture between China and Western Countries(中西方国家酒文化的对比性研究）开题报告

This dissertation aims to analyze the differences of wine culture and the factors aroused by all kind of differences. Wine has been the most important traditional drink shared by various people throughout the world. It#8217;s also a well-accepted tool used on cross-culture occasions. Although wine drinking is a common cultural heritage enjoyed by many people worldwide, the wine culture is different. People all have their specific annotations of wine, no matter where they come from.

Many people, especially those who come into contact with western people, will find it necessary to comprehend some knowledge of wine culture of western countries. With the accelerating pace of globalization, an increasing number of Western cultures bump into our sight. Wine culture becomes more important in the cross-cultural communication between China and Western countries. Therefore, it#8217;s necessary to identify the differences of wine culture between different countries. Understanding cultural differences aroused by traditional cultures, thinking modes and social backgrounds and eliminating their conflicts can result in a successful collaboration.

This dissertation focuses on the different manifestations of wine culture between China and western countries and deep-seated reasons. It also adopts some commonly accepted views of experts in this aspect. This thesis mainly consists of three parts: introduction, different forms expressed by different wine culture the reasons which lead to differences and conclusion. Firstly, the introduction is concerned with the purpose of this paper, the significance of the chosen topic and the present state of the relevant research. The second part is the major part of this paper and it consists of three parts with each part dealing with different forms expressed by different wine culture, the factors leading to differences and some suggestions. The conclusion part summarizes this thesis. The practical significance of this thesis is to better use wine as a breakthrough in the cross-culture communication and therefore help Chinese and the westerners to make a win-win cooperation.

What ways does wine culture of China differ from that of the western countries in? How do the historical and social backgrounds affect the wine culture? How to avoid the sharp conflicts between wine culture of China and that of western countries? All of these problems would be discussed in this my dissertation.

There are some studies about wine culture differences between western countries and China, not so many. Instead of such kind of contrastive study, scholars are more willing to study further on their own countries#8217; wine culture. Therefore I would like to gather information for my thesis through each possible channel. I found some books in our school library concerning Chinese wine culture and many anecdotes are found in these books.

I also searched for foreign books which are relevant to this topic. However some of these books are very rare and I could only find the Chinese translation of these books. Anyway, I would fully make use of the resources which I have got.
