Alice Walker, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ''''The Color Purple'''', is one of America''''s major and most prolific writers. She is not only a feminist but also a womanist. Ecofeminism is the product of the combination of the Women''''s Liberation Movement and the Ecological movement. At the same time, gender, race, and ecological problems it involves are also closely related to the modern society. As a result, the research from the propective of Ecofeminism is of practical significance to the intensive study of Alice Walker, women status and ecological construction in modern society.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

My paper will give a brief introduction of Alice Walker, including her life and major works. And the introduction of history background and connotaion of Ecofeminism will follow. Then based on the theory of Ecofeminism, the paper will analyze some couples of relations: men and women, human and nature, race and race. After that, the paper will explore practical significance of Ecofeminism, refering to some hot issues in modern society: gender equality, racial discrimination and ecological construction. Finally, the paper will make a conclusion and point out the existing problems and research propect of this topic.

3. 国内外研究现状

There have been many researches on the study of Alice Walker made by both Chinese and foreign scholars. However, due to a lag in the study of Walker abroad, her works do not cause immediate repercussions inChinese after the publication, which result in the Chinese translation of her works backforward. Therefore, the research results are mainly focused on individual works, and lack of comprehensive and overall evaluation and study. That is why the author attempts to make a research on this topic.
