The Study of Sentential Ambiguity: An Investigation into English Majors开题报告

1. 研究目的与意义

本课题以语言学关于英语句子成分附着不定的分析为理论基础，从实证角度出发，以汉语为母语的英语学习者（英语专业学生）为受试者，实证性研究受试者对目标英语结构歧义习得情况。

本课题具有一定的学术价值与实践意义：1) 国内学者以成分附着不定为目标语言结构的以汉语为母语的二语英语习得研究相对较少。

2) 本课题考虑由不同句法成分附着不定产生的句法歧义，弥补已有研究相对忽略不同句法成分对剖析策略的影响不足。

2. 研究内容和预期目标

本课题以语言学关于英语句子成分附着不定的分析为理论指导，以汉语为母语的英语学习者（英语专业学生）为受试者的实证性研究。

主要研究内容有已下方面：1) 通过阐述已有相关文献，本课题罗列并讨论目标语言结构中句法成分附着不定的分布于句子解读之间的关系。

2) 通过设计实验，本课题实证研究以汉语为母语的英语学习者是否可以解读通过不同句法类别成分不定附着而产生的歧义；歧义的解读是否受被句法成分的改变影响。

3. 国内外研究现状

歧义是人类语言所共有的一种特性，歧义的产生涉及多种因素。

学者们从构词歧义、语音歧义、语义歧义、句法歧义和语用歧义等方面对英语中的歧义现象作了研究。

由句法成分附着不定，如英语介词词组附着不定（例如，the policeman watched the spy with binoculars），导致的句法歧义在学界得到广泛关注（bailey, lierler susman, 2015; jurafsky martin, 2017; greenberg, 2014; fujita, 2016）。
