1. 研究目的与意义

Against the backdrop of growing globalization, interpretation has captured increasing attention and has gradually become an indispensible bridge among different language and cultures. Anyone who is going to do the interpretation is supposed to grow aware of the source language through listening. How the source language is understood directly decides the quality of the interpretation task. Thus, for interpreting trainees, listening comprehension may be a part which is of great significance. If problems arise in this stage the whole interpretation could be affected. On the other hand, listening comprehension is a quite vulnerable link in interpretation, because it is restricted by the message repeat techniques except other barriers. The purpose of this dissertation is to reduce listening comprehension problems and to improve the efficiency of listening comprehension in interpretation.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

Research content: During the English-Chinese interpretation, there are bound to be various listening obstacles which may affect the whole interpretation. The study of the dissertation is about these obstacles and how to reduce the problems so that the efficiency of listening comprehension in interpretation could be improved. Key problems: What#8217;s the previous study of listening comprehension about? What are the main listening barriers in English-Chinese interpretation? What are the solutions to those listening barriers?

3. 国内外研究现状

Over the years, many scholars have studied about the standard, professional skills and purpose of interpretation according to the written translation theories; while some have probed into the occupational morality and objectivity of the interpreter. The number of the relevant researches has been on the tremendous increase, and although the research contents have covered a wide range of topics, they are lacking pertinence. As a result, there are not many empirical researches on the listening comprehension barriers in interpretation, which turns out one of the key links in interpretation.
