research purpose:

lead-inis the beginning of a courseand the key to whetherit can attract students' attention. successfullead-inis the premise to enliven the entire classroom atmosphere, which can not only motivate students to prepare for new courses psychologically and intellectually, stimulate students' interest in learning and desire for knowledge, but also enable them to enter a good learning state and helpthem to beproactive in learning new content. based on this, thispaperwill select college english courses for non-english majors in wuhan university of technology, as the main objective of observation to make a detailed analysis ofdifferent types of lead-inin college english teaching,further measuring which pattern in lead-inis more suitableto the classroom practical teaching.
