1. 研究目的与意义（文献综述）

research purpose: film andtelevision works are important media for cultural communication. among theseworks, documentary, as a special form, presents vivid images to the audienceand makes a difference in the cultural exchange between china and foreigncountries. however, dueto the differences in national languages, the dissemination of documentarieshas a certain limitation. audiences watch excellent documentaries but find itdifficult to understand their contents, which not only fails to reflect thecharm of documentaries, but also fails to achieve the purpose of spreadingculture. therefore, subtitletranslation of documentaries is particularly important. to a certain extent, the quality of thetarget language directly determines the degree of interpretation of the workand how much the audience understand as well as adoring the work.

the purpose of this study is to take thetranslation project as an example and combine the theoretical rules ofeco-translation theory to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of thetranslation, so as to improve the existing rules of english documentary subtitletranslation in china.

the research reportis divided into four chapters. the first chapter briefly introduces the sourceand topic of the translation project, and summarizes the object, significanceand method of the research report, as well as the research status. the secondchapter describes the characteristics of subtitle translation and the theory ofecological translation. chapter three analyzes the adaptive transformation ofthree dimensions of corpus in translation projects. the fourth chaptersummarizes the translation strategies of documentary subtitle translationthrough examples.
