aldous huxley’s visionary book brave new worldis one of the dystopian classics of the twentieth century. it proposes a softer form of totalitarianism--one of conformity achieved through bottle-grown babies, hypnotic persuasion, unlimited consumption, sexual frustration, preordained caste system and soma, a drug that brings instant pleasure with no side effects. huxley’s ingenious fantasy of future sheds a blazing light on the present and is considered to be his most enduring masterpiece. for this reason, this essay not only focuses on how huxleycompleteshis deconstruction of utopia in brave new world, but alsodiscusses the foresight of huxley’s work by studyingthe relationbetween this noveland contemporary society,and discoversthe similar dilemma people face in modern times in various fields, from politics to culture, including birth control, over-population, technology alienating mankind, social propaganda and so on.
