research purpose:

with the communication between chinese culture and other cultures is getting closer and closer, the function of translation between different languages is getting more and more important. however, under the different social backgrounds, the translator’s choice of words is different. therefore, this paper will take two chinese translations of charlotte bronte'sjane eyreas examples, and analyze the influence of social background conditions on the selection of words, so as to find a more suitable translation method and direction for chinese readers, and to provide some help for the future work of classics translation.
