research purpose:

asfinancial timesandchina dailyare from different cultural backgrounds, they areaccessible to distinctive target audiences. by analyzing the translation strategies used in these two representative news media, translated texts can be placed into specific time and spaces for further study. on the basis of medio-translatology, the texts can reveal the final impacts and purposes of the translation, which plays a significant role as the medium of cross-cultural transmission. in addition, we can find out the degree of transmission and acceptance of two types of media with different audiences in the new cultural context, and draw people’s attention to the role of translators in different cultural backgrounds in the whole process of translation. by upgrading their translation strategies, these two news media can better meet the reading habits and aesthetic tastes of the accepting group, so that both newspapers can go further in the target countries.
