1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

research purpose:

nowadays, english, as a universal language, has played an indispensable role in the global community, enabling people from all over the world to travel, communicate or do business. therefore, we are not surprised to find out that english has always been a compulsory subject in university, since an excellent master of it will make students more competitive when out of the campus. in this case, a proper english teaching method becomes extremely important for college students, especially for english-majored students. while more and more pedagogical methods for second language acquisition are coming out, grammar translation method remains dominant, although some voices regard it as out of date. and this research will aim at the application of this teaching method in the english-majored classrooms, trying to reveal its practicability through a quantitative research. and it will try to find and suggest some possible adjustments to improve, making this method better meet various situations and needs of english-majored students.
