1. 研究目的与意义（文献综述）

research purpose:

salman rushdie’s literary achievements have been recognized all over the world and he is one of the greatest novelists in the english-speaking world today. midnight’s children, as his most famous work, has won booker prize for three times, which is unprecedented in the history of booker prize. when we read this novel, we can easily find out the verbosity of the protagonist.but with the progress of reading, we will slowly integrate into this kind of narrative and enter the world constructed by the author. why does this seemingly wordy writing fascinate readers so much? besides, the narrative in this novel is not linear but spreads outward like the concentric circle with the protagonist as the center. why does the author choose this narrative structure, how does he imperceptibly use it and what does he achieve through this structure? this paper intends to solve these problems.
