research purpose:

conversationis the interactive communication between two or more people. the development ofconversational skills and etiquette is an important part of socialization. thekey characteristic of the novel pride and prejudice is conversation, which occupies the main part almosteach chapter. the various conversations create different scenes and the properand exquisite construction and arrangement of conversation gradually promotethe development of plots. in practice, most stylistic analysis attempts to dealwith the complex and valued language within literature. under the guidance of theclose correlation between literature and stylistics, this research choosesseveral typical turns of conversations from pride and prejudice to analyze the language organization and effects inthe conversations based on the stylistics and explore how conversations advancethe development of plots. the research is also conducive for readers to acquirea better understanding of the characteristics of characters and motif of the novel.
