1. 研究目的与意义（文献综述）

research purpose:

the trade war between china and the unitedstates, which began in 2018, has had a great impact on both sides and even theworld. the game between the two countries is reflected not only in the field offinance and trade, but also in diplomacy and public opinion. the direction of contemporarypublic opinion and the content of government speeches are both importantdiplomatic means. in order to achieve their respective goals, governmentspokesmen and media of both countries have used many euphemisms in theirreports on the trade war. from the perspective of face theory, this study will translateand analyzes euphemism in articles reported by the mainstream media of the twocountries in order to obtain a better understanding of these reports, so as to helpput an end to this smokeless war as soon as possible. it also makes a comparativeanalysis of the euphemism used in the reports, and summarizes thedifferent usages of euphemism in different cultures of the two countries
