1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)
Research purpose:Creation myth embodies the simple world view of ancient human. This paper compares creation myths of China and the Nordic historically and culturally on the concept of the origin of universe and human to understand the differences and similarities between the two cultures, and benefit cooperation and communication of the two regions.Research significance:Creation myth, as a tool to describe and explain nature and the universe, reflects primitive ideas of ancient human about the origin of universe and mankind. Mythology is not only the source of literature, but also the undifferentiated whole of early human culture. And creation myth has great significance of cultural genes.China is the cradle of Eastern culture, whose creation myth represented by Pan GU and Nu Wa as an important part of Chinese culture has a profound influence. Nordic myth is one of the main western mythological systems. Its creation myth reflects the core worldview of the early people. Over time, these myths have been deeply integrated into local culture. By comparison of Chinese and Nordic creation myths, it can be understood the views of different ethnic groups in the East and the West on the origin of the universe and human beings, and cultural connotations of both sides.Existing researches analysis:Chinese and Western scholars have made great contributions in the field of creation myths, for example, Shi Xinhui of Zhengzhou University analyzed Chinese creation myth from the perspective of the origin of the universe and the birth of man in her paper—The Interpretation of Chinese Creation Myth in 2005, Foreign scholars Garner and Alan studied the creation myth by storytelling in their article published in 2015—Creation Myth. As for the comparison of creation myths, Sun Jing’s article published in the journal of Chongqing University of Science and Technology in 2014—Exploration of the Significance of the Comparison Between Chinese and Western Creation Myths had such a point of view—the respective creator gods in China and the West symbolize patriarchy and motherhood, which reflects the different attitudes towards free will in Chinese and Western cultures. Also, Cheng Jing scholar of Wuhan University used text analysis and myth archetype criticism theory to compare and analyze Chinese and Western creation myths from time, culture and language, and then take the Bible and The Book of Morality as specific examples to analyze in his paper published in 2010—The Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Creation Myths. In the field of comparative studies of creation myths of different cultures, many scholars currently aim to study the similarities and differences between the creation myths of China and Greece, such as—A Comparative Study of Chinese and Greek Creation Myths published by Christina Samara of Zhejiang University in 2013. There are also some scholars who make a comparative analysis of Chinese and Japanese creation myths, such as—A Comparative Study of the Creation Forms of the Two Gods in Chinese and Japanese Myths published by Hu Qi of Jiangxi Normal University in 2015. However, comparative studies of Chinese and Nordic creation myths are now relatively rare. Yet, Nordic myth, as one of the main western myth systems, has far-reaching effects, and it is very meaningful to compare and analyze them with Chinese myth.
