1. 研究目的与意义

With the development of globalization, intercultural communication becomes more and more frequent in this society. If people want to get along well with others in the intercultural communication, the interpersonal relationship is a key factor. Analyzing the differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people can help people pay more attention to the differences and overcome the barriers for better communication and cooperation.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

My paper will talk about the differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people, analyze the reasons for the differences and put forward suggestions for people to deal with the differences. The first part will introduce the differences of interpersonal relationship from family relationship, friendship and social connections. Then, the paper will focus on the reasons for the differences. Finally, suggestions for people to deal with the differences will be explored.

3. 国内外研究现状

There have been many researches on the differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people made by both Chinese and foreign scholars, such as Professor Helen Spencer-Oatey, a famous expert in research on relationship management theories and the effects of cultures on cross-cultural communication.

Because of frequent cross-cultural communication, we should pay more attention to the differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people. That is why I attempt to make a research on it.

with the development of modern technology and gradual globalization of economy, intercultural communication between people of different cultural backgrounds is becoming more and more frequent, which sets high requirements for communication. in the meantime, there has been growing interest in differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people. thus, it is necessary for people to research to understand and master the differences of interpersonal relationship between eastern and western people for better communication.
