research purpose:

as streaming media gradually dominate theworld of information sharing and audience fragmentation, the mind of themajority, especially the adolescents psychological state, demonstrates atendency of becoming more vulnerable, unstable, and perplexed. nevertheless, dueto the status quo of the popular mind, contemporary arts and literature,especially plays and musicals, come back to the sight of the public with itsunique emotional tension. drama exerts a power to awaken the long-dormanthumanistic spirit of people, bring them the touching feeling, and then make theminspired and finally reflective. as a case study of the best musical of the 71sttony award, dear evan hansen, thisresearch analyzes the sublimation from own melancholy to ontologicalresponsibility in the musical in four parts, character, music environment, anddramatic form. this thesis aims to illuminate how contemporary arts and literature awakenemotional recognition and the human spirit and expound the catharsis and empathy of the kind ofsublimation of ontological responsibility in contemporary arts and literature.
