1. 研究目的与意义
With the rapid development of education, there is an increasingly growing number of people tending redients to learn foreign languages. Under such circumstance, it is high time that foreign language learners are supposed to be aware of the importance of learning motivation. Motivation, as the term itself suggests, refers to attitudes, emotional status or learning drive. It plays an imperative and necessary role in students#8217; efforts to learn foreign language. A large-scale of research has confirmed that motivation, serving as the internal impulse and initiative taste for second language learning, is among of the key factors in second language acquisition and learning. Through this study, it can be efficient and significant to arouse the students#8217; enthusiasm to learn the second language so as to improve their learning competence.
2. 研究内容和预期目标
this thesis first shall introduce the definition and the types of leaning motivation. then, it shall focus on the positive and negative influence of leaning motivation on the second language acquisition.
the key issue to be resolved is to study the concrete and typical learning and teaching examples of the negative and positive impact so as to prove its necessity.
3. 国内外研究现状
Based on various researches and experiments conducted in china, they give the top priority on the significance of the instrumental motivation. The learning capacity and achievement motivation, such as acquiring certificates and passing examination, greatly exert positive and powerful influence on their foreign language learning. Chinese experts emphasize that due to such motivations, foreign language learners can greatly make their utmost to work hard and promote their leaning efficiency. While it is also generally acknowledged that such motivation would make students only focus on the scores or results but pay little attention on the concrete learning process.
While the foreign languages studies conducted abroad regard the influence of positive motivation as the priority. The foreign experts and researchers believe that motivation can be reflected at almost every stage and every aspect in the process of acquiring the second language. So they think the second language learning motivation works as a dynamic role in the whole learning process. As Dornyei and Otto pointed that:#8221; in a general sense, motivation can be defined as the dynamically changing cumulative arousal in a person that initiates, directs, coordinates, amplifies, terminates and evaluate the cognitive processes whereby initial wishes and desires are selected, prioritized, operationalized and successfully or unsuccessfully acted out.#8221;
4. 计划与进度安排
1. from february to march in 2022, i would collect a large range of document literatures such as works and thesis related to my topic. then i would read documents carefully and try to make notes and make summaries so that i shall understand the research results, points of views, and conditions conducted domestic and abroad. under such condition, i could form a general framework about my own thesis.
2. before april 25, 2022, i shall finish my first draft and modify my thesis with the help of my teacher so as to pass my middle-period examination.
3.in may.2022, i would finish my final thesis on the repeated checks and prepare my thesis defense.
