Analysis of Legal English Words and their Translation开题报告

1. 研究目的与意义

The thesis mainly aims to analyze the legal English words and their translantion aroused by many different reasons. Law is one of the most important institutionalized ideologies in every country. In a democratic state, the highest way to govern the country is to use the law. Additionally, until most people understand can it be conducted effectively. Many legal terminologies and principles are translated from western countries. Such as #8220;Prescribed Punishment#8221;. As a result, there is necessity to know the legal English words and their translation. China has been an important part of the word. There is a great demand of legal English translation. However because of the cultural difference between eastern and western and language difference, there are many difficulties to translate them.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

The thesis focuses on how to use legal English words accurately and regularly. This thesis mainly consists of three parts: introduction, the definition of legal English words, and how to translate them. Firstly, the introduction is concerned with the purpose of this paper, the significance of the chosen topic and the present state of the relevant research. The second part is the major part of this paper and it consists of three parts with each part dealing with the importance of legal English words, the importance of their translation. At last, the conclusion summarizes this thesis. The key points of the thesis are that our country belongs to the continental law system, while legal English words and their translation are concentrated on common law system. How can we distinguish the difference? How can we understand it clearly? All of the are the problems we pay attention to.

3. 国内外研究现状

There are some studies about the political speeches in China, not a lot. Instead of such kind of contrastive study, scholars are more willing to study further on their own countries#8217; law. As a result , this thesis mainly focus on the translation of legal English words will help widen people#8217;s eyesight. At the same time , I notice that some foreign scholars have conducted some research on the relevant topic, I will learn from them and make amendments.
